A consummate purveyor of meticulously selected and expertly woven sonic gems, the Nokturnal sound covers a wide range of psychedelica. His true skills are unleashed however when taking a trance floor from the deeper, groovier, more hypnotic soundscapes of PsyTech, PsyBreaks and Progressive Psy, all the way to the mind-bending bliss of driving, soul-vibrating Dark Progressive Psytrance.
Swapping his ice climbing gear for a Gemini UMX9 mixer and a pair of Tech 12 turntables in the late 1990’s, in no time Darvin was a regular performer at some of the largest North American festivals such as Shambhala, Motion Notion and Burning Man. It was not long before he was playing peak-time sets alongside international headliners as an artist for Zenon Records at gatherings as far away as Boom Festival, Portugal, numerous clubs in Goa, India, in Byron Bay, Australia, and closer to home at both Symbiosis in California, and Eclipse Gathering in Quebec.
His hit V/A compilation and DJ mix Sea of Vapours on Zenon Records was voted the [#2](https://soundcloud.com/tags/2) Progressive Psytrance compilation release of the year on Isratrance, and his DJ mix Zenonesque charted at [#3](https://soundcloud.com/tags/3) on Beatport.com out of over 3500 mixes of all genres. Currently the driving force behind PurePsyence Events (which includes the annual outdoor PurePsyence Gathering along with Night Flight club nights and streaming events), Nokturnal’s passion for rocking the Zenon groove in North America and abroad has been…relentless.
